Team Suit and updates
As mentioned at practice last night, it has been recommended to the club to disattach our name from the local schools. Although we are sad to have to face this change, the club will remain entirely committed to our swimmers and will stand by our mission statement, "to empower young people to become champions for a lifetime, in and out of the water, through dedication to competitive swimming". The club will continue to practice in Corning as we have been, we have been in contact with the AD and Superintendant of Corning and have been told we will soon be given days and times for which we can practice at the High School as well as the middle school. The club is also excited to have the opportunity to help revive club swimming in Horseheads and we look forward to expanding on this opportunity. Our presence in the Horseheads area will help us recruit more local swimmers and further expand our program.
We have decided to return to the former club colors which the club had 51 years ago when it was established until the mid 2000s. The team colors will now be green and navy. We have selected a style of suit that has many different cuts and fits. For the women's/girl's suits the "speedwarp" is available in both women and youth sizes. Both women and youth suits are available in a "cutout" style (more open back) and a "diamond fit" style, more coverage in the back (see photo). For men/boy's suit we are offering both a brief style and jammer style suit. The suits are available on BOTH the team tyr website and also on the swimoutlet website (both website links are below). Below are the names of the suits with the prduct number (product number when searched on the TYR website will bring you directly to the assocaited swimming suit). On the swim outlet website searching "speedwarp" will bring you to the page with TYR speedwarp product. Below are the names and product codes for the team suits.

The team suit will NOT have the team logo, this will make turnover time quicker. When the team logo and team name has been finalized, new custom swim caps will be purchased. At the request of the swimmers, we have discussed with the TYR rep having the kids last names put on the caps. After logo and name has been finalized we will send out an update regarding swim caps.
We know there are some concerns with changing the team name/colors/etc. We acknowledge these concerns and sympathize with you! We are, however, confident that the leadership from our amazing coaches, positive attitude of our awesome swimmers, and with the support from our wonderful parents, the club will continue to thrive and provide every swimmer with the best possible opportunity to achieve their full potential.
